Having called the Malaysian Embassy yesterday we knew we have to go back to the border.
Not knowing what to expect, I packed my bag with 2 books, some extra clothes, a toothbrush, the phone number of the US and Swiss Embassy and my medicine until Monday (I am on blood thinner). My motto is always:"better be safe than sorry", while Bill says: "it is easier to apologize than ask permission". As a formal Marine he wasn't concerned at all.
We left on a Friday just in case we have to stay there for a while, so we would be back on Monday to start working again.
Leaving Singapore was no problem, so we stopped at Immigration in Malaysia and we told our story. I saw in the eyes of the officer, that he wasn't to concerned and he left with our passports to ask a higher ranked officer. After a couple minutes of waiting we had to follow him. As soon as I saw the other man, I knew that this nut will be harder to crack. There was no emotion on his face or in his eyes. We had to tell the story again, and in the right moment Bill said as a true soldier: " Yes Sir." That was the change, the tension was gone, the officer said, you don't get a stamp now to go in, just ride in the country, turn around and you will get your stamp leaving since your permission is good for 90 days.
Fazit: There are still human on this planet. And the soup is never eaten as hot it is cooked.
There is only one thing I have to do now, change the numbers of the safe, since I told our friend, in case we don't come back.

Jassen
